He dedicates himself to discovering his former identity and those originally associated with him. Josuke is a young, physically fit man of above-average height. Josuke has a diastema between his upper incisors and a star-shaped birthmark on his left shoulder. He has two sets of irises, four testicles, and two tongues, all joined as one, differing in texture and color. After consuming a vial of Locacaca , small patches of skin on Josuke's upper body and face turned to stone, including his left eye. He wears a tasseled "Dixie cup" sailor cap in multiple illustrations, it is adorned with the same palm insignia as Jotaro Kujo 's hat. He wears a sailor suit, cut with a wide neck and above the navel exposing his birthmark in latter depictions , a neckerchief with a button resembling a slotted screw head, large emblems of an anchor on his right side and a compass rose on his left, fitted pants with a belt, and a pair of high-top athletic shoes. Yasuho mentions he resembles her dog, Josuke. Josuke is afflicted by extensive retrograde amnesia, lacking memory of himself or events prior to meeting Yasuho Hirose , but retaining various degrees of knowledge.
Araki introduced the Bow and Arrow in this arc, which causes characters pierced by it to develop a Stand ability. This was used on DIO at the beginning of Part 3, which not only gave him a Stand but caused Stands to develop in the Joestar bloodline as well. Josuke, who is the illegitimate child of Joseph Joestar , soon encounters the man, who introduces himself as Jotaro Kujo. Jotaro's arrival in Morioh pulls Josuke into the world of the supernatural powers known as Stands , as he becomes involved in Jotaro's search for the Stand-creating Bow and Arrow; Josuke himself is revealed to possess the Stand Crazy Diamond, which has the ability to return any object or living creature except himself to a previous state. Josuke and Koichi eventually come across a pair of Stand-using brothers, Okuyasu and Keicho Nijimura. Keicho is revealed to be the one possessing the Bow to create Stand users, turning Koichi into one. Okuyasu joins with Josuke's group to avenge his brother, encountering several other Stand users before they eventually find and defeat Akira Otoishi, Red Hot Chili Pepper's user, as Joseph arrives in Morioh. The Bow and Arrow are taken into Jotaro's custody and all seems to be over for the moment.
